Frequently asked questions

What clients usually engage your Business Analysis Consultants?

We work with clients from all over the world. Our clients range from enterprise and corporate clients to companies that are backed by Private Equity or Venture Capital funds. Furthermore, we work directly with Family Offices, Private Equity firms, and Asset Managers. Most of our enterprise clients have dedicated Corporate Development, M&A, and Strategy divisions which are utilizing our pool of Business Analysis talent to add on-demand and flexible resources, expertise, or staff to their in-house team.

How is Fintalent different?

Fintalent is not a staffing agency. We are a community of best-in-class Business Analysis professionals, highly specialized within their domains. We have streamlined the process of engaging the best Business Analysis talent and are able to provide clients with Business Analysis professionals within 48 hours of first engaging them. We believe that our platform provides more value for Corporates, Ventures, Private Equity and Venture Capital firms, and Family Offices.

Our Hiring Process – What do ‘Community-Approach’ and ‘Invite-to-Apply’ mean?

‘Invite-to-Apply’ is the process by which we shortlist candidates for the majority of projects on our platform. Often, due to the confidential nature of our clients’ projects, we do not release projects to our whole platform but using the matching technology and expertise of our internal team we select candidates who are the best fit for our clients’ needs. This approach also ensures engagement with our community of professionals on the Fintalent platform, and is a benefit both to our clients and independent professionals, as our freelancers have direct access to the roles best suited to their skills and are more likely to take an interest in a project if they have been sought out directly. In addition, if a member of our community is unavailable for a project but knows someone whose skill set perfectly fits the brief, they are able to invite them to apply for the role, utilizing the personal networks of each talent on our platform.

Which skills and expertise do your Fintalents have?

The Fintalents are hand-picked and vetted Business Analysis professionals, speak over 55 languages, and have professional experience in all geographical markets. Our Business Analysis consultants’ experience ranges from 3+ years as analysts at top investment banks and Strategy consultancies, to later career C-level executives. The average working experience is 6.9 years and 80% of all Fintalents range from 3-12 years into their careers.

Our Business Analysis consultants have experience in leading firms as well as interfacing with clients and wider corporate structures and management. What makes our Business Analysis talent pool stand out is the fact that they have technical backgrounds in over 2,900 industries.

How does the screening and onboarding of your Business Analysis talent work?

Fintalent.io is an invite-only platform and we believe in the power of referrals and a closed-loop community. Members of our community are able to invite a small number of professionals onto the platform. In addition, our team actively scouts for the best talent who have experience in investment banking or have worked at a global top management consultancy. All of our community-referred talent and scouted talent are subject to a rigorous screening process. As such, over the last 18 months totaling more than 750 hours of onboarding calls, of which only 40% have received an invite-link after the call.

What happens if I am not satisfied with my Business Analysis consultant’s work?

During your initial engagement with a member of our Fintalent talent pool with no risk. If you are not satisfied with the quality of your hire for any reason then we are able to find a replacement at short notice. There is no minimum commitment per project, but generally projects last at least 5 days and can last 12+ months.

We are a community-based M&A staffing platform.

With our platform, you can fill full-time M&A roles, or staff your team with a Business Analysis expert when you need an extra hand.

Everything you need to know about Business Analysis

A business analysis is a form of applied research that looks at the economic and financial aspects of an organization. These analyses are often part of the lifecycle for any organization, from early-stage startups up to large corporations. It takes a team with deeper experience in this field to be able to deliver insightful results in a short amount of time, but Business Analysts are expected to collaborate with non-technical people within the company as well as external partners. They report into an organization’s CEO or CFO and can be found across many different industries, such as medical research, chemical engineering, banking and finance

Fintalent’s Business Analysis Consultants can provide insight into how companies should run their plans based on market trends or new regulations from government agencies. They may even determine how to streamline an organization to become more efficient. These types of analyses are becoming increasingly large in scope and can involve companies that operate at a global level, sometimes going beyond their own borders.

Who requires Business Analysis

Business Analysis is also a skill that is required by any company that is considering implementing digitization, where data and information are managed via processes such as Big Data. The process usually involves contracting out the work to specialized Business Analysts who have experience in the act of looking into things like this.

Amongst other things, Business Analysts utilize analytical skills, business intuition and artful storytelling to produce reports that outline any potential issues or opportunities for an organization’s growth as well as their possible solutions. They communicate the findings through a combination of words, images and diagrams.

Business Analysts often work alongside IT and Project Managers to provide an overview of the current state of a project, as well as to build a path forward to its successful completion. In many cases, Business Analysts may refer to themselves as “Business Analytic Engineers” (BAE), as this is a growing and emerging field – although there are still many professions who view them as mere analysts.
Maintaining relationships with both internal and external resources is imperative for the success of any Business Analyst. They need to interact with other departments in order to bring needed information together or look at problems from different angles .

Business Analysts may need to present their findings with the assistance of larger teams, such as IT staff or Project Managers. They work with other members of the team to reach consensus on how best to move forward upon reaching a solution. Business Analysts are expected to maintain confidentiality during this process, while making sure that they contribute their own personal insight and knowledge.

A business analysis is an information-gathering and reporting project focused on the financial aspects of a business or business-like activity. The process can be done at any stage of business planning, from small startups to large corporations. It is common for the process to be done periodically, such as every year or two, in order to keep a finger on the pulse of the business and how it is impacting its overall success. Business analysts are often tasked with determining the best ways to do things within a company, whether that means implementing processes or streamlining existing ones.

Business analytics experts use information gathered from multiple sources including human intuition and knowledge as well as analytical skills and historical data. The data is then presented in numbers and charts that are easy for non-technical people across an organization to understand. Those who have experience in the field know that the work comes with challenges, such as deadlines and a large workload. Those who are able to handle this stress and are successful at their jobs often move up the ranks within an organization.

Business analysis consultants tend to be engaged by companies of all sizes, including startups or private corporations. Business analysis involves an intense amount of research and analysis in a short timeframe. There are many different styles that can be used, such as the waterfall or agile methods, depending on the needs of the project.
