An established advisory firm specializing in transitioning businesses to employee ownership is seeking an experienced M&A Manager. The firm has played a key role in developing Canada’s new Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) legislation and is actively implementing this framework in mid-sized companies nationwide. Due to high demand following the legislation's launch, the firm requires additional expertise to manage its growing client base and scale operations. This role has the potential for recurring engagements over the coming years, given the anticipated growth in EOT adoption in Canada. Responsibilities: - Conducting feasibility studies to evaluate the financial and operational viability of EOTs for clients. -Developing financial models, including valuations and cashflow waterfalls for EOT transactions. - Managing all aspects of the EOT (M&A) process from initiation to completion, including due diligence. -Negotiating with financial institutions, legal advisors, and accountants on EOT transaction structures. -Guiding clients through the transaction process, providing counsel, managing expectations, and offering coaching. -Ensuring clients feel comfortable, informed, and respected throughout the process. -Enhancing and refining the firm’s processes and services iteratively. Candidate Attributes: -Demonstrated success in executing mergers and acquisitions. -In-depth knowledge of the M&A process, including due diligence, valuation, and negotiation. -Preferably with experience in the Canadian market within mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, private equity, or a related field. -Financial qualifications such as CPA, CFA, CBV, or similar are preferred. - Responsible and ownership-driven. -Detail-oriented with a preference for organization and precision.
