Frequently asked questions

What clients usually engage your SPSS Consultants?

We work with clients from all over the world. Our clients range from enterprise and corporate clients to companies that are backed by Private Equity or Venture Capital funds. Furthermore, we work directly with Family Offices, Private Equity firms, and Asset Managers. Most of our enterprise clients have dedicated Corporate Development, M&A, and Strategy divisions which are utilizing our pool of SPSS talent to add on-demand and flexible resources, expertise, or staff to their in-house team.

How is Fintalent different?

Fintalent is not a staffing agency. We are a community of best-in-class SPSS professionals, highly specialized within their domains. We have streamlined the process of engaging the best SPSS talent and are able to provide clients with SPSS professionals within 48 hours of first engaging them. We believe that our platform provides more value for Corporates, Ventures, Private Equity and Venture Capital firms, and Family Offices.

Our Hiring Process – What do ‘Community-Approach’ and ‘Invite-to-Apply’ mean?

‘Invite-to-Apply’ is the process by which we shortlist candidates for the majority of projects on our platform. Often, due to the confidential nature of our clients’ projects, we do not release projects to our whole platform but using the matching technology and expertise of our internal team we select candidates who are the best fit for our clients’ needs. This approach also ensures engagement with our community of professionals on the Fintalent platform, and is a benefit both to our clients and independent professionals, as our freelancers have direct access to the roles best suited to their skills and are more likely to take an interest in a project if they have been sought out directly. In addition, if a member of our community is unavailable for a project but knows someone whose skill set perfectly fits the brief, they are able to invite them to apply for the role, utilizing the personal networks of each talent on our platform.

Which skills and expertise do your Fintalents have?

The Fintalents are hand-picked and vetted SPSS professionals, speak over 55 languages, and have professional experience in all geographical markets. Our SPSS consultants’ experience ranges from 3+ years as analysts at top investment banks and Strategy consultancies, to later career C-level executives. The average working experience is 6.9 years and 80% of all Fintalents range from 3-12 years into their careers.

Our SPSS consultants have experience in leading firms as well as interfacing with clients and wider corporate structures and management. What makes our SPSS talent pool stand out is the fact that they have technical backgrounds in over 2,900 industries.

How does the screening and onboarding of your SPSS talent work?

Fintalent.io is an invite-only platform and we believe in the power of referrals and a closed-loop community. Members of our community are able to invite a small number of professionals onto the platform. In addition, our team actively scouts for the best talent who have experience in investment banking or have worked at a global top management consultancy. All of our community-referred talent and scouted talent are subject to a rigorous screening process. As such, over the last 18 months totaling more than 750 hours of onboarding calls, of which only 40% have received an invite-link after the call.

What happens if I am not satisfied with my SPSS consultant’s work?

During your initial engagement with a member of our Fintalent talent pool with no risk. If you are not satisfied with the quality of your hire for any reason then we are able to find a replacement at short notice. There is no minimum commitment per project, but generally projects last at least 5 days and can last 12+ months.

We are a community-based M&A staffing platform.

With our platform, you can fill full-time M&A roles, or staff your team with a SPSS expert when you need an extra hand.

Everything you need to know about SPSS

What is a SPSS Statistics?

A SPSS Statistics is a statistical analysis software that’s used in data collection and statistical analysis. It’s composed of the following software: Data Collection, Data Manipulation, Regression Analysis, Descriptive Statistics, Survey Analysis, Logistic Regression Analysis, Mplus Structural Equation Modeling System. There are other features that help you to build better models such as Hypothesis Testing and Confidence Interval Estimation.

If you’re a business owner, statistician, researcher or software engineer and you want to know how to leverage SPSS Statistics in your product development, this article is for you. If you’re a student who wants to know how to use SPSS Statistics in their statistics studies, this article is for you. If you’re an employer looking for ways in hiring good statisticians who understand the power of SPSS Statistics from the first day of work, this article is for you.

In the past, statistics studies focused on the use of SPSS Statistics for descriptive statistics and statistical analysis. But today, statistics studies are more concerned with how to use SPSS Statistics as an input for creating better products. How is this so? In short, it’s because statistics are used in creating better experiences for users and products that are more profitable for businesses.

How Businesses can Leverage SPSS Statistics

At first, it’s important for businesses to know how to use SPSS Statistics in their day-to-day operations. This allows them to spot problems early on and correct them immediately. For example, you’re a business owner or manager and you want to predict the number of sales that’ll be made in a store during the holidays. You’d use a SPSS Statistics program to help you predict this, and once you found out the number of sales, you can make a quick decision, adjust your business plans accordingly and start selling your products right away.

But this is only one way that businesses can leverage SPSS Statistics in their day-to-day operations. Making decision based on SPSS Statistics is not just limited to the above example. There’s a lot of other ways that businesses can leverage SPSS Statistics in their day-to-day operations.

Some examples include:

  1. This is how companies learn how to use the market and what their strengths are. For example, one company’s strong point is its brand recognition and good reputation in the market It learns this by analyzing their customers’ buying habits, usage patterns and feedbacks from previous customers. The company uses this information to build their brand reputation and customer loyalty.
  2. This is how you learn what the customer needs and how to satisfy the needs in a way that’s more profitable for your business. For example, let’s say you’re a fashion brand and you have a product that helps women to lift up booties. You’d use SPSS Statistics to study your buyers’ buying habits, usage patterns and feedbacks from previous customers. You can learn from this information about what the buyers want, what they look for when buying booties and how to deliver the product more efficient.
  3. This is how you’d generate profit from your business venture by understanding what your potential customers want. For example, let’s say you’re a restaurant owner. Sometimes people treat you as an added income to their meal because of your location and tasty food choices. You know that people would have more money to spend if they would order food instead of dessert every night after dinner. You use SPSS Statistics to learn about your potential customers’ habits, usage patterns and feedbacks from previous customers. You can learn from this the kind of food your potential customers would like to eat and how to deliver this food more efficiently.
  4. This is how you’ll avoid losing customers due to their complaints about your products’ design flaws or functionality problems. For example, let’s say you’re a bathtub manufacturer and your bathtub is not water resistant because of its loose joints and bad sealing system. You use SPSS Statistics to learn about your customers’ buying habits, usage patterns and feedbacks from previous customers. You can learn that people would be upset of their bathtubs breaking down easily because they didn’t get the quality they were expecting. You will learn many ways to solve these problems through SPSS Statistics and make your product more efficient.
  5. This is how you’d avoid losing customers due to price changes or amenities offered by competitors. For example, let’s say you’re a clothing store owner. You know that people would shop somewhere else if you raise your prices because they’d be shopping somewhere cheaper. You use SPSS Statistics to learn about the kinds of clothes purchased by your customers and the behaviors of their purchasing behavior. You can learn about how to maintain higher sales of your clothing products and appeal to more customers.
  6. This is how you’d improve the quality of your products in a more efficient manor so as to retain loyal customers.
