The Head of M&A of a publicly listed global Health Care company hired a Fintalent (ex-McKinsey, MD and Healthcare expert) for a four-week engagement to evaluate different market (sub)segments for M&A purposes. The Client sought to diversify its portfolio through the entrance into the US market and wanted to better understand the US healthcare sector its various segment to determine which would be most attractive to enter.
After narrowing on specific segments, more detailed segment analysis helped the Client to guide the M&A and entrance strategy.
The first phase of research required an analysis of the market size, growth, fragmentation, profitability, key competitors, customer insights, and the analysis of likely disruption/convergence analysis for each segment.
The second phase was a more in-depth research on the specific subsegments.
